Draaibanken en freesmachines

Lathes and milling machines, while fairly interchangeable in most people's minds have one fundamental difference. A lathe has a fixed blade and the piece being worked on will be spun while a milling machine has a rotating blade and the workpiece remains fixed. There are, however, a few hybrid machines now available. The most common type of lathe is the bench lathe which will generally perform all the operations of the larger engine and speed lathes and only lacks the mass-production automation capabilities. These are ideal for small-scale production in a compact workshop or factory environment.
